About the business
William Timpson founded Timpson Ltd and opened our first shop on Oldham Street, Manchester. After introducing shoe repairs in 1903, the business continued to expand, and we celebrated opening our 200th shop in 1947.
Our famous key cutting services were introduced in 1967, before introducing watch repairs years later in 1997.
After making our first major acquisition in 1995, Timpson has since grown into the business you see today. Big high street names such as Max Spielmann, Snappy Snaps and Johnsons are now part of the Timpson family, along with our newer hospitality businesses and much more!
